Major News Events in Karnataka on 8th July, 2022

1. As rains continue to lash Coastal Karnataka and Malnad region, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai is holding a meeting with the Deputy Commissioners of 13 districts which are worst affected to review the situation. Three killed in a building collapse in Mangaluru, Schools have been closed in many districts due to incessant rains.

2. The 30th anniversary of the Kannada Development Authority will be organized today in which Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Minister of Energy, Kannada and Culture Department V. Sunil Kumar and others will participate. The Chief Minister will release the book “Kannada Rath-Kayak Path”. The program will be held at Ravindra Kalakshetra on JC Road from 5 pm onwards.

3. BPAC will conduct an online panel discussion on Bengaluru Metropolitan Land Transport Authority (BMLTA), focusing on the need to provide commuter-centric, seamless and inclusive mobility in terms of city transport planning, administration and governance. 4. Ramaiah Institute of Technology RIT Campus, MS Ramaiah Nagar, Mathikere, at 10.30 am at Nandini for BE, B Arch., M.Tech, M. Arch., is organizing a farewell in honor of the outgoing students of MBA and MCA courses. RIT alumnus KR, IAS will be the chief guest.

5. WeBhinna hired filmmaker M.S. Sathya’s 93rd birthday celebrations continue, KM Chaitanya will interact with students on Sathyu and the theater movement, while senior theater personalities in the program “Sathyu Mattu Naavu” will talk about filmmaker at ADA Rangamandara on JC Road from 4 PM to 6 PM.

6. School of Culture, Dance is organizing two day Rasabhinaya Mahotsav on 8th and 9th July. As part of the programme, there will be a Bharatanatyam performance by Seshadri Iyengar and Kiran Subramaniam on Friday. Social and Backward Classes Welfare Minister Kota Srinivas Pujari will lay the foundation stone for the construction of hostel for scheduled caste and scheduled tribe girl students at 11 am.

2. Pilikula Biological Park in Mangaluru resumes captive breeding of King Cobra, which lays eggs after breeding in captivity. The eggs will be artificially hatched and the babies will be released into the wild.
