Two days after the 10th anniversary of the attack, she landed in the southern city of Karachi – her second visit since shooting – from where she will travel to areas ravaged by unprecedented monsoon floods.
Her organization, the Malala Fund, said in a statement that the purpose of her visit is to “help reinforce international focus on the impact of the floods in Pakistan and the need for critical humanitarian assistance”.
The devastating floods put a third of Pakistan under water, displaced eight million people – who are now facing a health crisis – and caused an estimated $28 billion in damages.

The Pakistani Taliban held a year-long insurgency in Swat until a major military crackdown in the country’s northwest in 2014 restored security in the region.
But it has seen a resurgence of militancy in Afghanistan since the Taliban returned to power last year.
Attacks have increased in recent weeks, mostly targeting security forces.
A driver was shot dead and a child injured in an attack on a school bus on Monday, forcing more than 2,000 students and teachers out of classes.
Locals have blamed the Pakistani Taliban, but the group has denied responsibility.
Students and teachers again went out on Tuesday, calling for peace in the area.
“People are angry,” principal Ahmed Shah told AFP on Monday. “Students from all private schools came out to protest.”
