Man arrested for chain-snatching near Coimbatore Coimbatore News – Times of India

Chennai: The Annuri Police in Coimbatore recently arrested a 26-year-old man for snatching a gold chain from a woman – a shopkeeper.
The accused has been identified as 26-year-old A Mareeswaran. He was working at a fish shop in Karamadai. He is married and has a four year old daughter.
Police sources said Mareeswaran had gone to a grocery store in nearby Telungupalayam Pillayappampalayam With two of my friends on September 8th. When his friends were sitting on a two-wheeler, he asked shopkeeper S Parvati to give him a cigarette. When she gave him a cigarette, Mareeswaran asked for another cigarette. When she turned to pick him up, Marisavaran snatched the chains of the five sovereigns from her.
He got on the two wheeler which was kept ready for him. All three ran fast.
The police traced Mareeswaran on the basis of the vehicle’s registration details obtained from the footage of the CCTV cameras. He was sent to judicial custody.
