Man arrested for making ‘Sully Deal’ app ‘auction’ for Muslim women in Indore: Police

Delhi Police today detained a man from Madhya Pradesh, who is the alleged creator of ‘Sully Deals’ application.

The app, which was launched last year, listed Muslim women for ‘auction’ whose photographs were taken without permission and tampered with.

The ‘Sulli Deal’ and the recently created ‘Bully Bai’ application allegedly uploaded pictures of Muslim women without their consent and made inappropriate remarks against them. Both the apps used the hosting platform ‘GitHub’ to auction the stolen photos.

The accused Omkareshwar Thakur was arrested by the Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) of Delhi Police in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

KPS Malhotra, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations Unit of Delhi Police Special Cell said, “Om Thakur has been arrested from Indore. He is the main mastermind of the Sully Deal app case.”

Police said Thakur developed the code for ‘Sully Deal’ on GitHub and shared the app on Twitter.

The police identified and detained Thakur on the basis of information obtained during interrogation of Neeraj Bishnoi, the creator of the ‘Bully Bai’ app. Apart from Bishnoi, three other accused have also been arrested in the Bulli Bai app case.
