Man attempted suicide by jumping into Krishna river, was saved

A private employee, P. Vidya Sagar, had jumped into the Krishna river from Prakasam barrage on December 13, allegedly due to some family problems.

One Town Police Station ASI Abdul Sattar, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) 10th Battalion and Blue Colts Police, who were patrolling the barrage, jumped into the water and rescued the victim.

Sri Vidya Sagar, a native of Safilguda, Hyderabad, is working in a private transport company. One Town CI P Venkateswaralu said that police and NDRF personnel provided first aid and his condition is stable.

“We are probing the exact reasons behind the suicide. The family members of Vidya Sagar have been informed,” the CI said.

Individuals in distress or with suicidal tendencies can dial ‘100’ for any help.
