Man crushed in car over rail ticket fee in UP, 1 arrested: Police

Police quoted the family as saying, the suspects overturned their car 2-3 times over the man

A man has been arrested for allegedly driving his car at a local shop owner for canceling train tickets in Greater Noida’s Ecotech 1 area on Monday. Another suspect is on the run, it said.

Nakul Singh, a resident of Gharbara village, and his younger brother Arun Singh allegedly killed Nitin Sharma, who runs a mobile and train ticket reservation shop, for canceling train tickets worth over Rs 300, police said.

The brothers had booked a train ticket for Jammu and canceled it on Sunday. For this Nitin deducted Rs.300.

An altercation ensued and the family of the deceased man alleged that two suspects intentionally rammed into their Maruti Swift DZire. Police quoted the family as saying that the suspects overturned their car over the man 2-3 times.

Police said Nitin, who was critically injured, was taken to a hospital where he died during treatment.

Greater Noida Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Vishal Pandey said that a case was registered against the two suspects under sections 302 (murder) and 34 (act by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC.

Mr. Pandey said, “On Tuesday, the police received information about Nakul’s movement in a car on a Pushta road in Gharbara village. A police team reached the spot and arrested him. The car used in the crime was found. has been confiscated.”

Nitin’s father Satveer Sharma has lodged a complaint against two suspects at Ecotech 1 police station on Monday.
