His sister, who lives in another room of the same building, found him lying unconscious on the ground.
Police said that the incident happened at around 4:45 pm on Sunday.
“The woman was strangled with a wide belt-type rope near her body,” said Ecotech III SHO Bhubanesh Kumar.
He said that Kundan fled the spot after killing his wife, but when his sister saw Lakshmi’s body lying on the ground, his sister informed the police.
An FIR has been registered against Kundan under IPC section 302 (murder) and he was later arrested by the police on Monday.
In another incident in Kheda Chauganpur village, a youth of his age was allegedly stabbed by two men after an argument and argument.

Ecotech III police have registered an FIR against Ajay and Vijay under sections 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (criminal intimidation), 307 (attempt to murder) and 34 of the IPC.
Police arrested Vijay on Monday, while Ajay is absconding.
