Chandrapur: A man got angry and killed his wife by chopping him with an ax and then made many attempts to end his life, but failed. The incident happened on Saturday night in Bhangaram Talodhi village of Gondpipri tehsil.
Late Saturday night, the attacker Raju Bawane (42) had a fight with his wife Yogita (35). Soon it turned into a heated argument. An enraged Raju grabbed the ax and attacked Yogita, causing several injuries and she died on the spot.
Soon after the incident, guilt surrounds Raju and he decides to end his life. After this, he tried to electrocute himself by holding the wire in his hand. He received burn injuries on his hand, but he did not die. Once unsuccessful, he consumed poisonous insecticide. However, before he could die, a neighbor came to his rescue after hearing a noise from the Bavans’ house.
The neighbor immediately informed the police, who shifted Raju to Gondpipri Rural Hospital. A case of murder of his wife has been registered against him. Police sources said that Raju’s condition is stable.
