A 24-year-old man has been arrested for making fake calls about a bomb in the bustling Zaveri Bazar area of ​​Mumbai.

He said the accused Dinesh Sutar, a resident of Kalbadevi Road in south Mumbai, had allegedly called up the control room of Mumbai Police on Sunday morning about the bomb placed at Jamkhed in Ahmednagar district.

The officer said that Sutar later called the control room again that a bomb had been planted on an Eat street in Zaveri Bazar area, following which the police swung into action and the Bomb Disposal Squad also reached the spot.

He said the accused was arrested under sections 506(2) (criminal intimidation), 505(1)(b) (making, publishing or transmitting any statement or report containing rumours) and other relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code. Is.

He said Sutar, a resident of Sangola in Solapur district, had come to Mumbai 10 days ago after a dispute with his relatives and was living in Kalbadevi, where he had worked earlier.
