A 25-year-old tribal youth, who inserted an iron rod into the victim’s mouth after a quarrel over a family property in a village in Kerala, was murdered by his relative. The police gave this information on Saturday.
What started as an argument over a property dispute on Friday night turned into a brawl between the victim, Ramesh, and his relative Suresh, the assailant. Under the influence of alcohol, the accused hit Ramesh with a rod and put it in the mouth of the victim.
Later, the accused fled the spot, and police personnel started a search for him and when he was spotted in a nearby forest area, they arrested him, the police said. He said that during interrogation the accused confessed to their crime.
The crime took place when Ramesh reached the accused’s house and “quarred” with him. “According to the accused, there was a dispute between the two over a property. Last night, the two had an argument over this matter. The accused had hit Ramesh with a rod while under the influence of alcohol…” a police officer said. Told.
