Man Says He “Finally Got A Fully Furnished Home In Bengaluru”, But There’s A Screw

The Twitter post has garnered over 212,000 views and over 1,700 likes.

From dealing with rising rents to landlords demanding unusually high-security deposits, home hunting, especially in Bengaluru, has always been an uphill task for people. Landlords not only ask tenants about their LinkedIn profiles, but they also inquire about their colleges and sometimes ask for a short bio about themselves. Now using sarcasm as his shield, Twitter user Manthan Gupta shares the harsh truth of finding a decent living space in the country’s IT capital.

In his post, Mr Gupta shared a picture of a small living quarter with a bed, cabinet and small washbasin. He wrote in the caption, “Finally got a fully furnished house in Bengaluru. Gated society and 24×7 security.”

Internet users were quick to react to his post. While many were convinced that the room was on rent and inquired about Mr. Gupta’s agent’s number, others shared that the room is bigger than theirs and has enough sunlight.

A Twitter user asked, “In Bangalore or in Mumbai?” Another commented, “Can you share the agent’s number?” A third expressed, “Whoever lives there is lucky to have sunshine in the room”.

However, in the comments section, Mr Gupta clarified that the picture was actually from a jail cell. He asked users to check the “Alt” of the image, which read “Image description: This is a jail cell”.

Meanwhile, several internet users also jumped into the reply section to continue the satire. ,It’s only 20% smaller than my room and I don’t even have security (It’s only 20 percent smaller than my room and I don’t even have security), wrote one user. Will send you the address,” commented a third.
