Barry Carr was filmed by his grandson Charlie Gibson on match day. In the video, Charlie and his grandfather can be seen preparing for the match and eventually the two can also be seen enjoying the match at the Etihad Stadium.

Barry has been a Manchester City fan since the age of six. It was “unbelievable” for Charlie to get his grandfather on the pitch, but at the same time he funny admits, even though they weren’t “predictable.”

“It’s an incredible memory – he’s been a City fan all day and through and the result made it feel like a rollercoaster,” Charlie was quoted as saying by itvNEWS.

“Bringing him on the pitch was incredible – even though we shouldn’t – it made it extra special. It was wonderful to see the energy I got from being on the field and enjoying football.”

Manchester City did manage to win the match against Aston Villa but were trailing for a large part of the game. The visiting team took a stunning 0-2 lead by scoring two goals in the match.

Villa right-back Matty Cash took his side’s lead in the back of the net in the 37th minute of the match. Brazil’s attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho deflected from the cushion of two goals in the 69th minute of the match.

But City responded quickly as just seven minutes later, midfielder Ilke Gundogan reduced the deficit to one. Rodri equalized two minutes later. In the 81st minute of the match, Gundogan scored the second goal to take the first lead in the game.

A 3–2 win against Aston Villa was enough for Manchester City to lift the coveted English Premier League trophy.
