Alejandro Garnacho only has 18 months left on his current contract and is understood to have rejected Manchester United’s initial offer of £20,000-a-week wages.

Manchester United are hopeful of renewing the contract of Hierarchy star Alejandro Garnacho. The 18-year-old Argentine is believed to have rejected an initial offer from the Red Devils. Garnacho only has 18 months left on his current contract. Garnacho is understood to have rejected an initial £20,000-a-week salary offer. A Metro report states that Kishor’s representative is looking for an amount close to £50,000 per week. Alejandro Garnacho is slowly becoming one of the most sought-after youngsters in world football. Real Madrid and Juventus are said to be interested in acquiring his services.

Amid speculation that the interest from these European giants could have something to do with the former’s refusal to accept, Man Utd chiefs are confident of reaching a long-term deal with the teenager. Garnacho is already starting to make an impact with his Old Trafford outfit this campaign. He has bagged three goals and seven assists in 18 appearances in all competitions so far in the 2022-23 season. His cameo in the recent Manchester derby helped set up the winner for Marcus Rashford, highlighting his importance to the Red Devils.

Manchester United bought Garnacho from Atletico Madrid in 2020 for a fee of £160,000. With only 18 months left on his contract, the teenager will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with overseas clubs in 12 months.

Erik ten Haag has also praised this young player a lot. He shares his thoughts on Garnacho ahead of their Crystal Palace fixture. The manager said, “He has improved a lot in attitude and all-round play and he has a skill that I don’t see in many players in the Premier League – he beats players one after the other.”

Even Manchester United legend Paul Scholes praised the 18-year-old in light of his performance against Manchester City. Scholes labeled Garnacho “dangerous”, highlighting his massive impact on the game. The former Red Devils player argued that the Madrid-born Argentina youth international’s fearless approach is slightly more impressive than Antony’s on the pitch.

The 18-year-old has been a constant threat this season whenever given a chance. He has made the most of his opportunities under the Dutch manager, emerging as one of the brightest young talents on the Manchester United roster.
