According to government officials, the conformity of production (COP) norms will be notified by the government before the mandate comes into force. This means that random samples of manufactured battery packs will be picked up from companies to verify whether they are complying with the standards set out in the mandate. From now on it will be taken before the EV model goes into mass production, at present, there are no existing COP provisions for EVs.
