Mangaluru woman arrested for having links with IS Mangaluru News – Times of India

A woman from Ullal has been arrested National Investigation Agency (NIA), nearly five months after the NIA and state police conducted searches at five locations across India, including Ullal.
Officers arrested on Monday Deepti Marla alias MaryamWife of Anas Abdul Rahiman, relative of late MLA BM Idinaba from Mastikatte, Ullal. He is suspected to be in contact with the IS cadre.
City police said she is a lactating mother and this was one of the reasons for not being picked up last. For the time being, she has preferred to leave the child with her family. An official said that he is in the custody of the NIA and is likely to be taken to Delhi.
On August 4, the NIA searched the premises of suspects across India who had been in contact with Mohammad Amin and his associates through various groups and channels on an encrypted chat platform and raised funds for IS. Four accused including Deepti Marla’s brother-in-law Ammar Abdul Rehman have been arrested.
