Manish Sisodia Claims Message From BJP: “Will Close All Matters If…”

He said, ‘I am ready to beheaded but can never bow before conspirators and corrupt people.

New Delhi:

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who was charged by the CBI over liquor policy charges, today claimed that the BJP had offered to “close all cases” against him if he left the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Refuting the allegation, BJP leader Manoj Tiwari claimed that the AAP leader is mired in corruption and hence making up stories. “We keep thinking about what new stories they’ll tell when we wake up in the morning,” he said.

Manish Sisodia tweeted two days after the CBI raid, “I have got a message from BJP – break AAP and join BJP. We will ensure that all CBI and ED cases are closed.” The alleged alcohol policy case.

Stating that all the cases against him are false, he challenged the BJP to do “whatever it has to do”.

“My reply to BJP – I am a descendant of Maharana Pratap and a Rajput. I am ready to behead but can never bow before conspirators and corrupt people. All cases against me are false. Do whatever you want to do, ” he said in a tweet in Hindi.

Criticizing Mr Sisodia, Manoj Tiwari said that it is shameful that he is comparing himself with Maharana Pratap.

“It is shameful that he is comparing himself to Maharana Pratap. Did Maharana Pratap make people drink liquor? You are selling liquor at every nook and corner. You are ignoring the cries of the women of Delhi. Maharana Pratap never made women drink. had taken up arms for,” he said.

“You are comparing Maharana Pratap to someone facing corruption case? Such corrupt people can only find a place in AAP. They will be punished for their wrongdoing. BJP punishes wrongdoers like Manish Sisodia. There is no place for the corrupt in BJP,” he added.

Supporting the allegation, AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj said there are “three dozen instances” that the BJP is pressurizing leaders of rival parties to probe and drop matters once they switch sides.

Describing Arvind Kejriwal as his political mentor, Sisodia said he would never betray him. “My message to BJP on offer to make me CM candidate – @ArvindKejriwal is my political mentor, I will never betray him. I did not come here to become CM, my dream is – every child of the country should get good education, and only then India will become number 1 country. Only Kejriwal ji can do this work in the whole country.

The CBI had recently raided the senior AAP leader in a case related to alleged irregularities and corruption in Delhi’s liquor policy, which was submitted earlier this year and then withdrawn.

Seemingly adamant, Mr Sisodia last week doubled down on saying that the Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22 was “best” of its kind and would have earned Rs 10,000 crore every year, but last minute decisions by former Lt Governor Anil Baijal -to defer.

The Deputy Chief Minister alleges that Mr Baijal changed his mind on allowing liquor shops in unauthorized colonies and caused a loss of thousands of crores to the city government.

Extending support to his deputy, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal also slammed the BJP today. He said the BJP-led government was engaged in conspiring to misuse the investigative agencies and devise ways to topple the elected governments, while the people were battling with skyrocketing inflation and depreciating rupee.

AAP has alleged that the cases against Sisodia and other leaders have been fabricated because the BJP fears the popularity of the party and its chief Arvind Kejriwal. Mr Sisodia has said that the 2024 general election is set to be a contest between Mr Kejriwal and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and accused the BJP of misusing central agencies to stop the AAP leader.

The CBI on Friday conducted searches at 31 places, including Sisodia’s residence and premises of some bureaucrats – former Excise Commissioner Arva Gopi Krishna and two other Excise Department officials and traders.

The CBI is probing at least two payments worth crores of rupees allegedly made by a liquor trader to “close associates” of Mr. Sisodia.

The FIR alleged that Mr Sisodia’s “close associates” were “actively involved in managing and converting accused public servants to undue pecuniary benefits collected from liquor licensees”.
