Market holidays: BSE, NSE will remain closed for these 2 days next week

The stock market will enter a long holiday next week and exchanges BSE and NSE will remain closed for a total of four days. Two out of the 4 holidays are due to the celebration of Diwali festival. However, on the evening of October 24, investors will be allowed to trade in capital markets, equity derivatives, currency derivatives, commodities and other securities for one hour under Muhurta trading.

As per the exchange circular, BSE and NSE will remain closed on October 24 on account of Lakshmi Pujan aka Main. DiwaliAnd because of Diwali Balipratipada festival on 26th October.

That being said, trading will resume on October 25, and further on October 27 and 28. Market It will be closed on 23rd October being Sunday and 29th October being Saturday.

Markets are usually closed on weekends.

However, on October 24, as India celebrates Lakshmi Pujan, the stock exchanges will open for Muhurta Trading In the evening of this day.

“Due to Muhurta trading on Diwali, a special live trading session will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022,” the NSE circular said.

According to the circular, the block deal session will run from 5.45 pm to 6 pm on October 24. Apart from this, the pre-market opening will be from 6 pm to 6.08 pm, followed by normal trading in the market from 6.15 pm to 7.15 pm.

Apart from this, the call auction illiquid session will start from 6.20 pm to 7.05 pm on October 24.

The closing session of the market will be from 7.25 pm to 7.35 pm on October 24. Whereas the cut-off time for trade modification will be from 6.15 pm to 7.45 pm.

“All trades executed in this Diwali Muhurta trading session will result in settlement obligations,” the NSE circular said.

This week the markets closed with a positive outlook. On Friday, the Sensex closed 104.25 points or 0.18% higher at 59,307.15, while the Nifty 50 gained 12.35 points or 0.07% to end at 17,576.30.

Compared to the previous week, the market cap of the firms listed on the BSE jumped higher 4.13 lakh crore in the week ending October 21, 2022 274.42 lakh crores. market cap was approx 270.29 lakh crore by the end of October 14 last week.

The 5-day Diwali festival will begin with Dhanteras on 22 October followed by Lakshmi Pujan (main Diwali) on 24 October and end with Bhai Dooj on 26 October.
