Maruti Suzuki India’s pending orders rise to around 4.05 lakh units: Here’s why

Maruti Suzuki India’s pending orders rose to around 4.05 lakh units this month as booking inflow remained steady, while newly launched SUVs Jimny and Frons also added to the numbers, according to a senior company official. . Bookings for the Jimny have crossed 11,000 units, while those for the Fronic stand at around 4,000 units.

According to Maruti Suzuki IndiaIn the third quarter ending December 2022, the company’s pending customer orders stood at around 3.63 lakh vehicles, of which around 1.19 lakh orders were for newly launched models.

Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India said, “We are at around 4,05,000 bookings (currently) which are pending, and that means we are seeing a very good level of booking and inquiry flow.” Huh.” , Shashank Srivastava told PTI.

Srivastava said that compared to January 2022, inquiries are 28 per cent higher and bookings 16 per cent higher in the same month this year.

Srivastava revealed that the growth in pending orders has also been accelerated by the company’s two newly launched SUVs – Maruti Jimny and Maruti Fronx, which were recently unveiled earlier this month at the Auto Expo 2023.

“The response has been great, especially for Jimny, also for the Franks. We are getting bookings for the Jimny at the rate of around 1,000 per day. We have received over 11,000 orders for the Jimny so far.

Maruti Suzuki India hasn’t announced the prices of these two new models, and they are slated to hit the market this “spring”. Earlier, the company had said that with the improvement in semiconductor supply, it is expected to have less impact on production and this will reduce the number of pending orders.

In the third quarter, a shortage of electronic components affected the company’s production of about 46,000 vehicles. In 2022, Maruti Suzuki plans to sell 15.76 lakh units as against 13.64 lakh units in 2021, a growth of around 16 per cent.
