Maruti Suzuki India has announced production figures for October 2021. The country’s leading carmaker said its total production last month stood at 134,779 units, which is more than a 26 per cent decline in sales as against 182,490 units produced in the same month. In a regulatory filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Indo-Japanese carmaker said, “Lack of electronic components affected the production of vehicles in October 2021. The company took all possible measures to mitigate the impact.”

Production of mini hatchbacks like Alto and S-Presso declined by 25.6 per cent to 23,632 units in October 2021
Compared to 81,278 units produced in September 2021, Maruti Suzuki has registered a month-on-month (MoM) growth of over 65 per cent. Production of mini hatchbacks like Alto and S-Presso in October 2021 witnessed a decline of 25.6 per cent at 23,632 units as compared to 31,779 units manufactured in the same month last year. The compact segment with models like WagonR, Swift, DZire, Baleno, Ignis and others registered a decline of 63.41 per cent at 62,824 units produced in October 2021 as against 102,666 units produced in the same month last year.
Production of the Ciaz mid-size sedan grew by 4.2 per cent to 1554 units as compared to 1490 units manufactured a year ago. Production of utility vehicles also increased by 16.8 per cent to 32,313 units as compared to 27,665 units manufactured in October last year. In the same month, Eeco production declined by 27.7 per cent to 10,440 units as against 13,342 units manufactured in October 2020. For Light Commercial Vehicles, the production of Super Carry declined to 4016 units as compared to 5548 units assembled a year ago. registered a decline of 27.61 per cent.
Production of utility vehicles rose 16.8 percent to 32,313 units.

Maruti Suzuki reported a decline of 24.18 per cent in sales at 24.18 per cent last month as against 1,82,448 units sold in the same month last month. And the double-digit drop in volumes is primarily attributable to a reduction in production numbers due to chip shortages.
