maruti suzuki will set up new facility in haryana

Country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Friday said it will invest Rs 11,000 crore in the first phase of its new manufacturing facility in Haryana.

The process of allotment of land to Maruti Suzuki in Sonipat by Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited was completed on Friday.

Rahul Bharti, executive director of corporate affairs, Maruti Suzuki, said, “Spread over 800 acres, the upcoming site at Industrial Model Township Kharkhoda will be the biggest single site for the company.

According to a press statement issued by the company, the first plant, with a manufacturing capacity of 2,50,000 vehicles per year, is expected to be commissioned before 2025 subject to administrative approval. The site will have room for three more manufacturing plants in the future.

When completed, the site will have a total manufacturing capacity of 1 million vehicles.

Maruti Suzuki was in discussions with the Haryana government for a long time regarding the new construction site for its proposed capacity expansion.
