Matthew Hayden appointed Pakistan mentor for 2022 T20 World Cup cricket news

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has re-appointed Australian batsmen Matthew Hayden As a team mentor for the ICC World T20 Cup in Australia. Hayden expressed confidence that the Pakistan team with its strong players will light up the mega event to be held next month. Hayden worked with the Pakistan team during the World T20 Cup in the United Arab Emirates last year and saw Pakistan beat Australia in the semi-finals.

The PCB said Hayden will join the team in Brisbane on October 15, the day Pakistan will arrive from Christchurch after participating in the T20I series, which will also include Bangladesh and hosts New Zealand.

PCB also hired South Africa Vernon Philander For the last World Cup as bowling consultant.

The PCB said that the decision is a continuation of Hayden’s involvement with the national men’s team as it propelled them to the semi-finals of the previous World Cup.

The PCB has also got sponsors for Hayden’s fees.

“I think this Pakistan side has got what it takes to excel in Australia and the conditions will really suit them both from the point of view of batting and bowling. This team has all its bases and I am sure this World Cup Just like it happened in the UAE last year,” said the almost Australian.
