Mayawati changed two more candidates in UP

The BSP had earlier declared Bablu Kumar Rathor as its candidate in Firozabad, but Shazia Hasan was brought in in his place.

The BSP has again replaced candidates in Uttar Pradesh, this time for two seats in Firozabad district in the central part of the state. With Friday’s change, BSP chief Mayawati has so far changed candidates in 11 seats, with several leaders from outside the party receiving last-minute entries.

The BSP had earlier declared party member Bablu Kumar Rathor as its candidate in Firozabad, but on Friday he was replaced by Shazia Hasan, wife of former SP MLA Azim Bhai. The SP has already declared its candidate in Firozabad, thus denying Mr. Azim’s wife. Mr Azim had rebelled against the SP in 2017 but returned to the party last year. He had to face defeat in the last two elections in Firozabad – on both occasions by Manish Asija of the BJP.

In the second change at Sirsaganj, Ms. Mayawati replaced Raghavendra Singh, who finished third in 2017, along with Pankaj Mishra, who finished fourth while fighting on the symbol of Jan Adhikar Manch.

BSP had earlier changed its candidates on nine seats in western UP- Dhampur (Bijnor), Kundarki (Moradabad), Khatauli (Muzaffarnagar), Ghaziabad, Garhmukteshwar (Hapur), Mathura, Etmadpur (Agra), Agra North and Khair (Aligarh). Were. ,
