Municipal Corporation of Delhi officials said the mayor reviewed the construction and directed the officials to expedite the work so that the school building could be made available for public use.

The MCD will build new schools and provide quality education to Delhi’s children on the lines of the Arvind Kejriwal government’s education model, Mayor Shaili Oberoi said on Friday.

Accompanied by Social Welfare Minister Raj Kumar Anand, Oberoi on Friday inspected the under-construction MCD school building in Prem Nagar area of ​​Karol Bagh zone.

Municipal Corporation of Delhi officials said the mayor reviewed the construction and directed the officials to expedite the work so that the school building could be made available for public use.

With the construction of this school, people from weaker sections of colonies like Prem Nagar, Nehru Nagar, Baljit Nagar, Punjabi Basti (Baljit Nagar), West Patel Nagar, Gayatri Colony will also be able to send their children. to the schools around them, Oberoi said.

This school will run in two shifts and about one thousand children will study in one shift. The school will have computer room, library room, science room, medical room, sports room etc. for the children.

During the inspection, the mayor also interacted with the local people, some of whom complained about the road being blocked due to the construction of the boundary wall of the school.

The Mayor directed the officials to find a solution to the problem so that the residents do not face any kind of inconvenience.

Mayor said that MCD will also build new schools on the lines of Delhi government’s education model and provide quality education to the children of Delhi. She will continue to inspect other under-construction MCD school buildings and assure that they are completed on time.
