With more and more people turning vegetarian, the demand for meat substitutes has increased over the years. Today, we find many restaurants and cafes adding imitation meat to their menus to meet the needs of their patrons. Joining the bandwagon, McDonald’s, one of the world’s largest fast-food chains, has given its plant-based burger a permanent place on menus in the United Kingdom and Ireland. This comes after the successful trial of McPlant Burger in the year 2021. McDonald’s UK took to its official Twitter handle to make the announcement and wrote alongside, “It’s official, McPlant is here.” The post further read, “Try it today.”
