Mediatek Dimenstiy 9000+ chipset announced with faster CPU, GPU and better ISP – Times of India

Last year, mediatek Brought its first true rival to Snapdragon’s top dog Dimension 9000 – taking over Snapdragon 8 Gen 1., Now, the silicon maker has refreshed its flagship chipset and added a ‘+’ to its moniker. The Dimensity 9000+ brings some minor improvements over the former, which seems to compete with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.
Dimension 9000+ 9000. Boosts clock speed by 5 percent and provides 10 percent improvement in graphics performance
The newly refreshed Dimension 9000+ chipset offers a clock speed bump over the Cortex-X2 core, which now clocks at 3.2GHz compared to 3.05GHz on the Dimensity 9000. The chipset is still fab on TSMC’s 4nm process node and offers 1+3+. 4 core configuration with prime Cortex-X2 cores, clocked three Cortex-A710 cores and four Cortex-A510 efficiency cores. The chipset comes with the Mali-G710 graphics unit, which promises to offer 10 percent improvement in graphics performance compared to its predecessor. Furthermore, the chip comes with an integrated 5G modem that offers peak speeds of 7GBps; However, it lacks support for mmWave, and the chipset also includes a fifth-gen APU for machine learning tasks. In addition, the chipset brings support for 144Hz refresh rate at WQHD+ resolution, 180Hz refresh rate at FHD+ resolution, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
The new Imagick 790 ISP can record 18-bit video from up to three cameras at once
Mediatek’s new Dimensity 9000+ comes with an improved Image Signal Processor (ISP) that supports 18-bit video recording from three cameras at the same time. The Imagiq 790 supports still images of up to 320MP, AV1 recording, and can process 9 gigapixels per second. In addition, the ISP has support for 4K HDR video recording at up to 60fps and 8K recording at up to 24fps with AI noise cancellation.
What is the difference between Dimension 9000+ and Dimension 9000?
The Dimension 9000+ doesn’t bring any major improvements over last year’s Dimension 9000+, but MediaTek says it does improve power efficiency. Meanwhile, it also offers 5 percent higher clock speed and 10 percent improvement in graphics performance. And the new Imagick 790 ISP brings support for recording 18-bit video from up to three cameras simultaneously. All other features are same as Dimension 9000.
Mediatek says that the new Dimension 9000+ smartphones will start arriving in the third quarter of 2022. we hope so Xiaomi, Opposition, Vivo And other Chinese manufacturers introduced Dimensity 9000+ smartphones as they all launched Dimensity 9000-powered flagships earlier this year.
