Meet IAS Sanjita Mohapatra, who never lost hope and secured 10th rank in 5th attempt

Sanjita joined SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant as Trainee (Technical) in 2013.

She failed in her fourth attempt but cleared the prelims.

Civil Services Exam is a career milestone for every aspirant. However, it is not as easy as it seems. Often candidates lose hope after failing in the exam and prefer to switch to normal jobs as a teacher. But, there is a saying, “Don’t lose hope until you reach your desired goal”. IAS Sanjita Mohapatra did exactly that.

Sanjita Mohapatra was born in a small town Sundergarh and then moved to Rourkela, Odisha with her family. Adhikari was studious during her school days and had great interest in her subjects.

He completed his graduation in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kanpur and then he decided to appear for UPSC Civil Services. But she failed in all the three attempts. At that time she could not even clear the prelims.

After three attempts, Sanjita joined SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant as a Trainee (Technical) in 2013 and worked as Assistant Manager till 2018. However, he did not lose hope and continued his preparation for civil services.

Meanwhile, she also got married to Vishwaranjan Mundari, a manager in RBI in 2017. After her marriage and with the support of her in-laws, Sanjita decided to quit her government job and moved to Mumbai and focused on preparing for the exam. ,

She failed again in her fourth attempt but this time she cleared the prelims round. Still, with great hope, he again started preparing for his fifth attempt. This time she also cracked the UPSC CSE interview and passed. In 2019, she secured All India Rank 10 in the exam and was one of the toppers of UPSC CSE.

During her preparation days, the IAS officer used to read newspapers, and read NCERT books as her self-study course.

He is currently posted as Assistant Collector in Dahanu, Maharashtra.
