TVS Motor has appointed Vimal Sumbali as its Premium Business Head. Sumbali has previously held positions such as the Asia-Pacific Head of Royal Enfield and the Managing Director of Triumph India. He also had a short stint at Bajaj Auto, during which he helped establish a probiking base for KTM.
The company is already moving towards premium products like iCube and is moving forward with Apache, Ntorq and Jupiter. Sumbali’s experience will come in handy at TVS Motor where Apache has been one of the top sellers, and a strong brand in the motorcycle segment.
TVS has been in the two-wheeler segment through several incarnations, starting with the moped four decades ago, and then spun off on its own with the Victor motorcycle at the turn of the century.
