Expressing grief over the incident, the BJP alleged that the responsible National People’s Party (NPP), along with ally Congress Party and other opposition parties, was trying to stop the “BJP wave” in the state. Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to participate in the election campaign in Shillong and Tura on 24 February.

District Election Officer Swapnil told PTI, “The sports department has informed that it would not be appropriate to host such a huge gathering at the stadium as the construction work is still going on and the material kept at the venue is a safety concern.” Could be the subject.

The stadium built by the center at a cost of 90 percent to Rs 127 crore was inaugurated on December 16 last year.

BJP national general secretary Rituraj Sinha said he was surprised how a stadium could be declared “incomplete and missing” for the prime minister’s rally two months after it was inaugurated. He said, “Are Konrad Megha and Mukul Megha Hums (BJP) scared? They are trying to stop the BJP wave in Meghalaya. You can try and stop the Prime Minister’s rally but the people of the state have made up their mind (to support the BJP).”
