Mehuli-Tushar won the second gold for India; Palak, Shiva tied up with bronze medals

The pair of Mehuli Ghosh and Shahu Tushar Mane clinched India’s second gold medal in the 10m air rifle mixed team final at the ongoing ISSF Shooting World Cup on Wednesday.

In the 10m Air Pistol mixed event, the Indian pair of Palak and Shiva Narwal won the bronze medal by finishing third in the play-offs.

The in-form pair of Mehuli and Tushar beat the Hungarian pair of Eztor Mazaros and István Penn 17-13 in a similarly drawn match-up.

The third and fourth places went to shooters from Israel and the Czech Republic, respectively.

This is Tushar’s first gold for India at the senior level, while Mehuli won her maiden gold medal at the 2019 South Asian Games in Kathmandu.

In the mixed air pistol event, Palak and Siva defeated Kazakhstan’s Irina Loktanova and Valery Rakhimzhan 16–0, which turned into a one-sided clash.

With impressive results on Wednesday, India have now moved up to the second spot behind the leaders of Serbia with two gold and one bronze medals.
