However, some student groups and members of other organizations accused the TRS government of not doing enough to provide employment to the youth, saying they would obstruct the event.
One of the protesters openly claimed to have immolated himself with a petrol bottle in the premises. Police said the man was taken into preventive custody along with 13 others. In the past, the university was the center of the movement to create a separate Telangana state.
