Ajit Mohan, VP & MD, Meta India (formerly Facebook) has resigned. His resignation comes with immediate effect on November 3, 2022. While Mohan’s sudden exit is unclear, reports claim that he is joining Snap (aka Snapchat).
Mohan joined Facebook after the departure of Umang Bedi in October 2017 and became the Managing Director of Facebook India in January 2019. Facebook was later rebranded as Meta.
The development has been confirmed by the company. Nikola Mendelsohn, Vice President of Global, said in a statement Business “Ajit has decided to step down from his role at Meta to pursue another opportunity outside the company,” the group said in Meta.
Prior to joining Facebook, Mohan was for four years the CEO of Star India, which was rebranded as Disney Star—the owner of the popular company Hotstar streaming platform.
