MG Motor India has partnered with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to strengthen Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across the country. The company says that the partnership with BPCL is focused on rapid adoption for EVs by expanding the opportunities for intercity travel as both the parties will install EV chargers along highways as well as within cities. MG Motor will also use BPCL’s extensive network of fuel stations to set up charging stations. The two companies will strategically identify charging sites, gain consumer insights, create loyalty programs and build technology to manage charging systems.

BPCL is setting up fast charging corridors on major highways, connecting major cities and economic centers of the country.

Even as BPCL is setting up fast charging corridors on major highways, connecting major cities and economic hubs of the country, the country will have a network of 7000 convenient fast charging stations in the next 2-3 years. These fast charging stations will come with a host of customer amenities, such as clean washrooms, refreshments and micro ATMs.
