MG Motor India registers 27% growth in June retail sales at 4,503 units – Times of India

MG Motor India announced today that it has registered a growth of 27% in Retail Sales at 4,503 units in June 2022. In the same month last year, the brand reported retail sales of 3,558 units.
The brand states MG Hector SUV and MG ZS EV It continues to see interest among buyers, with monthly bookings of over 4,000 and 1,000 respectively.
The sales momentum (obvious across all models) comes from some easing in semiconductor availability, even though the outlook remains constrained in the face of supply-chain constraints and persistent logistical headwinds, the company said in a statement.
MG Motor India claims that it is taking all necessary steps to address production and supply-chain issues and expects the situation to improve gradually in H2 2022.
Currently, MG Motor’s India line-up includes the MG Hector, MG Astor, MG Gloster and the MG ZS EV. A few days back, MG’s new EV image had surfaced online for the first time. According to various media reports, MG is planning to launch a smaller EV at the Auto Expo 2023.
Codenamed internally as ‘E230’, the new MG EV will be based on the Wuling Air EV sold internationally. MG’s subsidiary Wuling showcased the Wuling Air EV in the Indonesian market.
We can expect the EV to be named MG E230 in the Indian market and will be priced at Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). The new MG EV will get many changes like stronger AC, tweaked battery to suit the climatic conditions here.
