MG Motor launches Astor EX variant, starting at Rs 10.22 lakh: More details – Times of India

MG Motor has launched new EX variants for its MG Astor in the Indian market. Available at a starting price of Rs 10.22 lakh (ex-showroom), Astor EX variants include Style EX, Super EX, Smart EX and Sharp EX. These variants are only available with the 1.5-litre NA petrol engine mated to a manual transmission.
Some safety features that the Astor EX variant misses out on are traction control, ESP, hill descent control and hill start. Talking about the Sharp EX variant, it does not get Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Blind Spot Detection.
Apart from these, other safety features are similar to the non-EX variant. Also, the company has not made any changes in the equipment list of the Astor EX variant.
It should be noted that despite missing the above mentioned safety features, the Style EX, Super X and Smart EX variants are just Rs 6,000 cheaper than the other variants. The top-spec Sharp EX variant costs Rs 12,000 less than the other variants.

Considering the shortage of semiconductors, MG Motor has introduced new base variants in the market. Apart from MG, Skoda recently introduced new variants with Slavia and Kushak which missed out on some features. Hyundai also launched a new base variant, Alcazar. for Prestige Executive 15.89 lakhs (ex-showroom).
