MG ties up with Jio-BP, Castrol to expand EV charging infrastructure

MG Motor India, Jio-BP and Castrol have partnered to develop an EV service network as well as expand the electric vehicle charging infrastructure in India. Under the new partnership, Jio-BP and MG Motor India would like to expand the coverage of EV charging infrastructure in the country with a focus on electric four-wheelers, while Castrol aims to expand the coverage of its multi-brand auto services network and Express To do. Jio-BP, a joint venture between Reliance Industries and British oil and gas company ‘BP’, is already looking to develop EV charging infrastructure in the country under its Jio-BP Pulse brand. The company launched two EV charging hubs in the country last year – said to be one of the largest EV charging hubs currently in the country. The company has also delayed setting up of battery swapping stations in cities.

The company also announced that it will be setting up charging stations on its auto service network.
