Chennai Super Kings captain Ravindra Jadeja was in awe of MS Dhoni when the veteran played a late blitz to help CSK seal a thrilling win over Mumbai Indians.

Jadeja lauded Dhoni for his brilliant innings, saying the former CSK captain still has that spark and he can finish the game for the franchise.

MI slipped to their seventh loss this IPL, with Dhoni playing an unbeaten knock of 28 off 13 balls to help Chennai Super Kings win by three wickets in the last ball.

“Actually we were under a lot of stress with the way the game was going, but at some point we knew he was a great finisher of the game and if he plays on the last ball, he can definitely finish the match.

On Ambati Rayudu and Dwayne Bravo, he said, “He (Dhoni) showed the world that he is still here and he can finish the game.” So even if we’re not winning the game, we still look calm and relaxed. “I don’t take fielding lightly and still work on it. We need to do some work on our fielding and take catches because we can’t keep dropping catches every match.

Earlier in the match, CSK won the toss and invited the opposition to bat first. Mukesh Choudhary was impressive with the new ball and CSK reduced the opposition to 47/4 early in the innings. MI recovered after that as Tilak Verma scored a half-century and remained at one end throughout the innings.
