Microsoft CEO concludes India visit with Hyderabad campus townhall

It was a homecoming for Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella on Friday when he addressed a townhall at the tech major’s Hyderabad campus to wrap up a four-day visit to India.

During his visit to Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru where he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and some of his cabinet colleagues and addressed industry leaders, the townhall at the Microsoft India Development Center will be something special for the Hyderabadi Mr Nadella. , He grew up in the city and studied at the famous Hyderabad Public School.

“Hosting @satyanadella at our Hyderabad campus was a real homecoming. There is no better way to cap off their journey than at One Microsoft India Townhall. Thank you Satya for the incredible energy, passion, empathy and pointing to Microsoft’s shining north star,” Microsoft India President Ananth Maheshwari tweeted along with a picture of the packed townhall.

Another tweet and picture showed Mr Nadella with developers who were part of a million people to participate in the Future Ready Champions of Code program and receive Microsoft certification. He earned skills and certification in Microsoft Cloud in a span of one month under Microsoft Future Ready Champions of Code. This record milestone and scale represents India’s vision for inclusive economic growth, Mr Maheshwari said in another tweet.

‘Good Start’

Earlier in the day, Telangana IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao tweeted after a meeting with Mr Nadella, “Good start to the day when two Hyderabadis got a chance to meet @satyanadella; We talked about business and Biryani.

Apart from expanding its IDC footprint here, Microsoft is planning to set up its latest data center area in Hyderabad, the company’s first such facility in India. In March 2022, Mr. Rama Rao had said that the company would invest ₹15,000 crore over 15 years, making Hyderabad the destination of Microsoft’s largest data center investment in India.

During the visit, the Microsoft chief met the Prime Minister, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Union Minister of Railways, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnav and Union Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, Skill Development, Electronics and Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar. After his meeting with Mr. Modi, he said, “It is inspiring to see the government’s intense focus on sustainable and inclusive economic growth led by digital transformation and we look forward to helping India realize the Digital India vision and become a beacon to the world.” Looking forward to helping.”
