Microsoft unveils ChatGPT-powered Teams Premium

Microsoft Corp on Wednesday launched a premium Teams messaging offering powered by ChatGPT to ease meetings using AI chatbots that have taken Silicon Valley by storm. Microsoft said the premium service will cost $7 a month in June before rising to $10 in July.

OpenAI’s proprietary ChatGPT will automatically generate meeting notes, recommend tasks and help create meeting templates for Teams users.

Microsoft, which earlier this month announced a multi-billion dollar investment in OpenAI, has said it aims to add ChatGPT’s technology to all of its products, to compete more with rival Alphabet Inc’s Google. Setting the stage

Chatbots, which can produce prose or poetry on command, are at the forefront of generative AI, a space where more and more big tech companies are funneling their resources.

ChatGPT on Wednesday announced a $20 per month subscription plan that will let customers get faster responses and priority access to new features and improvements.
