Maharashtra Agriculture Minister Abdul Sattar on Tuesday launched a fresh attack on Shiv Sena MLA Aaditya Thackeray for daring to face elections by resigning from his constituency.

“My challenge still stands. Even if he (Aditya) doesn’t tender his resignation and if the chief minister allows me, I can resign within a week and face elections,” Sattar told reporters in Pune. “
He said that not a single farmer who has suffered losses due to heavy rains will be deprived of government assistance.
He said, “I had already spoken to the Chief Minister and Deputy CM on the issue of providing help to the farmers. Once we get all the panchnamas, the cabinet will approve the financial assistance.”

Sattar said that Uddhav Thackeray had only visited the fields for 24 minutes.
“What did he see in 24 minutes? I don’t know. When he was the chief minister, he had said that Rs 50,000 per hectare should be paid to the affected farmers, but he seems to have forgotten his point,” he said.
