Ministry of Culture removes all phases of Azadi’s Amrit Mahotsav celebrations – Henry Club

The Union Ministry of Culture is all set to deploy all its resources – personnel, affiliated organizations and its digital reach – to celebrate the 75th anniversary of India’s independence.

It is the nodal ministry for the 75-week long Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations that began in March this year.

As part of this initiative, the Sangeet Natak Akademi a few weeks ago sent an email to several people in the field of arts urging them to participate in the spirit of “Janabhagidari” (public participation). The National Academy of the Performing Arts, established in 1952, also advocated for the festival to be “full of colors of art, culture, songs and music”.

Ministry officials, in a recent press meet, highlighted its upcoming programs which will include “rangoli making, desh bhakti song writing and lullaby writing” by the public at large.

Officials say that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants these competitions to be simple in nature without any special skills or expertise, so that people across the board feel encouraged to participate in them.

Most of these events or competitions are being organized by seven regional cultural centers located at Patiala, Nagpur, Udaipur, Prayagraj, Kolkata, Dimapur and Thanjavur, which function under the Ministry of Culture and “protect, promote and preserve various forms of “Does it. Mandatory. of folk art and culture throughout the country”.

These competitions were virtually presented to the public by many eminent personalities. Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar for Patriotic Song Competition, Oscar winner AR Rahman for Lullaby/Lullaby Writing Competition and Padma Shri Sudarshan Patnaik for Rangoli Making Event tweeted. Subsequently, various media units of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Culture Minister and I&B Ministry such as PIB, AIR and DD posted about it on social media.

According to a statement issued by the ministry, the “Unity in Diversity Competitions”, as these events are being collectively called, are open to children above the age of 10 years, and focus on India’s collective identity through creativity. Proud. Will give you a chance to wake up again.

This time the Ministry of Culture will also participate in the Republic Day parade to be held every year under the aegis of the Ministry of Defense. The winners of the ongoing national level dance competition will be offered a three-minute spotlight to perform as part of the main parade on January 26, 2022. The Vande Bharatam dance festival seeks to participate in four categories: classical, folk, tribal and fusion/contemporary. A total of 480 selected dancers from the All India Dance Competition will perform at the Rajpath, the ministry statement said.
