Mission 2024: BJD, BJP and Congress gearing up for Odisha Assembly elections!

After the battle of Panchayat and Municipal Corporation elections in Odisha, the ruling BJD, BJP and Congress are preparing for 2024. At the same time, BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik have taken feedback from all the district supervisors after a face-to-face discussion. After the district-wise review meeting, the BJP is formulating a strategy. Congress is also planning to work with the new leadership, despite the discontent and infighting.

BJD is emphasizing on micro-management and Patnaik is collecting reports about success and failure and what is the need of new strategy for 2024. The Chief Minister will also review the report card of the minister.

BJD chief whip Pramila Malik said, “The party is collecting all the information and reviewing the sources of success and reasons for failure. We are focused on the implementation of a plan. Individual accountability has been fixed as per the assignment.”

Water Resources Minister Raghunandan Das said, “I am submitting the monthly report.”

Meanwhile, the BJP is reviewing the reasons for its failure in the municipal, panchayat elections and chalking out a strategy to organize the party’s functions well. Almost 90 percent of the reviews have been completed and the party is soon going to organize a Chintan Shivir.

BJP state general secretary Prithviraj Harichandan said, ‘BJP has performed well in about 65 to 70 percent of the booths. We are focusing on the weak booth levels and starting the ground work.”

The Congress is working hard after a consistently poor performance in the recent elections. State in-charge Chella Kumar is talking to party leaders. The PCC chairman is likely to be replaced soon. While it plans to change from top to bottom, discontent and infighting among senior leaders has become a hindrance to any new strategy. “The decision will be taken in Delhi. Chella Kumar will submit the report to Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. We will accept the decision taken by the party high command,” said Suresh Routre.
