MNS chief Raj Thackeray gets permission for Aurangabad rally, but with conditions

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president Raj Thackeray has been given permission to hold his much-awaited rally in Aurangabad on May 1. The meeting will be held in the grounds of the Cultural Krida Mandal Ground in Aurangabad.

However, the permit for the rally was dependent on several factors. They are as follows:

  1. The public meeting will be held on May 1 at 4.30 pm. Till 9:45 pm. The place and time of the incident should not be changed.
  2. Citizens attending the meeting should practice self-discipline. It is important that there is no offensive slogans, rioting, or indecent behavior during or after the meeting.
  3. All vehicles coming for the meeting should be directed not to change lanes and follow the route specified by the police. These vehicles will have to follow the prescribed speed limit while entering and exiting the city.
  4. Attendees should park their car, two wheeler or any other vehicle in the designated parking area. The organizers should give them proper instructions.
  5. The provisions of the Arms Act should not be violated. No weapons, swords, explosives should be displayed during the event.
  6. It will be the responsibility of the Organizers to notify all participants of the terms of the meeting, which include “no disrespect to any community clause”.
  7. Volunteers should be appointed for the event. Their names, as well as the names of those coming from outside Aurangabad for the meeting, should also be told to the police. The estimated number of visitors should be reported to the police the day before the meeting.
  8. The venue can seat a maximum of 15,000 people. Therefore, not more than 15,000 people should be invited to the venue. The organizers will be held responsible for any inconvenience caused by inviting more people than they can handle.
  9. Barricades will be put up to keep the meeting place organized. The police will be empowered to conduct proper investigations to ensure the safety of all citizens attending the meeting.
  10. During the meeting, care should be taken that no person or community should be insulted or provoked against any race, caste, language, caste, region, place of birth, religion or the customs and traditions followed by them. Don’t go
  11. Noise pollution rules should not be violated by the use of loudspeakers. Violation of the sound limit can be punishable with 5 years in jail and a fine of Rs 1 lakh under Section 15 of the Environment Protection Act, 1986.
  12. During the program, care should be taken that no essential service like bus service, ambulance, hospital, medical, electricity supply, or water supply is interrupted.
  13. The Traffic Regulation Office will issue a notice under section 36 of the Maharashtra Police Act 1951 on the day of the meeting, which will be binding on all the conveners, speakers and those present.
  14. Separate seating, drinking water and sanitation facilities should be provided for men and women attending the meeting.
  15. Meeting sound and electronic equipment, barricades and loudspeakers should all be in good working order, and an alternate generator should be installed ahead of time in case the electrical system fails.
  16. If any of the above terms and conditions imposed for the smooth conduct of this event are breached, all the organizers and speakers will be dealt with as per the extant rules.

The development comes two days after Aurangabad police invoked Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) in the district amid a loudspeaker controversy in Maharashtra. The prohibitory orders will remain in force till 12 am on May 9.
