More than two lakh registrations for Chardhams so far

So far more than two lakh customers have registered themselves for the Chardham Yatra starting next month in Uttarakhand. On the instructions of Ajmer Pushkar Singh Dhami, this information was given in a meeting chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi regarding preparations for the Char Dham Yatra.

State Tourism Secretary Sachin Kurve said that this year more than two lakh 12 thousand customers will register themselves for the Dham Yatra starting on April 22. He informed that for the convenience of the pilgrims, the system of registration through phone and WhatsApp has also been implemented for online registration.

The Tourism Secretary informed that this time a better and eligibility system is being implemented for the registration of helicopter service as well. The registrations for the Chardhams started on February 21 and the yatra is expected to break all previous records this time considering the huge number of registrations in just three weeks.

This year, the portals of Gangotri and Yamunotri are opening on April 22 on the occasion of Aksha Tritiya, while the portals of Badrinath will open on April 27 and Kedarnath on April 25. The Chardham Yatra, which fully resumed last year after a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, saw a record footfall of over 47 lakh devotees.

Expressing the possibility of more employees coming this time in the meeting than last time, the Upper Chief Secretary asked the officers to ensure all arrangements including electricity and water before the Kapat Chakra of the temples. Raturi appealed to all the resolution related to Chardham Yatra and said that the image of our state in the country and the world is that of ‘Tourism State’ and everyone has to take care that they return from Uttarakhand with a good experience. Important suggestions have been made in the meeting regarding all the documents including pilgrimage priests, tour and travel ceiling and complaints, about which Raturi said that questions from these options will also be conveyed.
