MP: Congress to hold tribal convention parallel with PM Modi’s Bhopal program

The political race for victory over the tribals in Madhya Pradesh seems to be intensifying, with the Congress deciding to hold a convention in Jabalpur on November 15, when the Prime Minister Narendra Modi The community icon and freedom fighter is scheduled to address a tribal rally in Bhopal to mark the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda.

The Madhya Pradesh government has organized a tribal convention on the occasion of Tribal Gaurav Diwas (Adivasi Pride Day) at Jambori Maidan in Bhopal on November 15, which will be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On Wednesday, the Union Cabinet had decided to declare November 15 as ‘Tribal Pride Day’ to mark the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda and to honor the contribution of members of Scheduled Tribes in Indian history and culture.

State Congress spokesperson Bhupendra Gupta said that Congress is organizing a convention on November 15 in Jabalpur to pay tribute to revered tribal leader and freedom fighter Birsa Munda, whose statue was installed there by our (previous) government.
