Hundreds of teachers of OBC category continue hunger strike amid scorching heat in Madhya Pradesh. The protesters who have been protesting for the last 40 days are demanding appointment from the Education Department. It is claimed that the selected teachers of OBC category have been given any appointment letter even after appearing in the merit list. Ensuing media reports claim that the health of many protesters is now deteriorating due to the ongoing hunger protest.

The health of the teachers sitting on hunger strike in the midst of heat is deteriorating continuously. So far, the health of seven teachers sitting on fast has deteriorated. They have been admitted to the hospital due to deteriorating health, while others have continued their strike. The protesters claim that their protest will continue till the selected teachers get appointments.

The appointment of teachers across the state has been done after a long wait of three years. Out of the total candidates included in the merit list, more than two thousand selected teachers of OBC category are still waiting for appointment. Due to the reservation of 14 percent and 27 percent in the court, now the selected teachers of OBC category are waiting for appointment.

Selected teachers of OBC category say that even after getting the appointment, more than six thousand posts are vacant. There are about two thousand teachers including both secondary teachers and secondary teachers.

Teachers are being recruited in Madhya Pradesh after 11 years. Even after the announcement of the recruitment, the teachers had to wait for almost three years to get the appointment letter. Meanwhile, many people still haven’t received any appointment letter and are protesting that they are in limbo due to delay.
