Mr Bean actor Rowan Atkinson’s pre-owned Aston Martin Vantage Zagato goes on sale

A customized 1986 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Zagato, once owned by Mr. Bean actor, Rowan Atkinson, is currently listed for sale in the UK. It was the only V8 Zagato ever modified by Aston Martin Works.

A custom 1986 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Zagato previously owned by Mr. Bean actor, Rowan Atkinson, is currently listed for sale in the UK. While no asking price has been made public, the car in question is one of 50 examples that were built as part of a collaboration between Aston Martin and Zagato, an independent coachbuilding company. Atkinson, who bought the car in 1998, was the third owner of this particular car, specially customized by the actor, who was keen to take up car racing.

Rowan Atkinson, himself an avid racer, was commissioned by Aston Martin Works Service will rebuild it and develop it for the AMOC C2 Class ‘Mildly Modified’ class in the UK. In fact, it was the only V8 Zagato ever modified by Aston Martin Works. The 5.3-litre V8 engine was also re-tuned by Aston Martin Works, adding Weber Alpha fuel injection, allowing the engine to make 482 bhp at 7,000 rpm and 558 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm.

The car’s 5.3-litre V8 engine was also re-tuned by Aston Martin Works, and it now makes 482 bhp at 7,000 rpm and 558 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm.

Later, the car also gets a new suspension system fitted with custom two-way adjustable Kony dampers and Eibach springs. Atkinson owned and drove the car for almost a decade before selling it to someone else. After Atkinson sold the car, it was dropped from the competition and in 2016 Mark specialist Nicholas Mee & Co revised it again to make it more road-friendly.
