MS Dhoni: What happened overnight that a mentor was needed? Ajay Jadeja questions BCCI. Cricket News – Times of India

New Delhi: Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja has questioned the BCCI’s move to appoint a mentor for the national team ICC T20 World Cup.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday announced a 15-man squad for the ICC tournament in the UAE and Oman beginning October 17.
While making the announcement, Secretary Jay Shah also said that M S Dhoni Will be the mentor of the team.
This must have impressed Dhoni’s fans, but Jadeja is still unable to understand the motive behind the move.
The cricketer-turned-commentator said, ‘It is impossible for me to understand this. I have been thinking for two days what could be thinking. I am not going that way like you sent Ravindra in front of Ajinkya, that person thinks why this has been done.
He said, “I am surprised. There is no bigger fan than MS Dhoni. I believe MS Dhoni was the first captain who made the next captain before leaving or he used to change whenever he wanted.”
Jadeja further insists that India have done well under captaincy Virat Kohli and head coach Ravi Shastri And hence, a mentor was not needed for the upcoming World Cup. “There is a coach who has taken the team to world No. 1, what happened overnight that a mentor was needed? The thought is surprising me a bit,” Jadeja said.
