Mumbai: Police on Tuesday arrested a 27-year-old construction worker who had killed a Coworker Hitting him on the head with a stone in the deserted middle Public Works Department building antop hill,
The killer wrapped the stone in a plastic bag to make sure there were no fingerprints. After beheading the victim, the accused covered the face of the deceased with the same polythene bag and set it on fire.

The face of the victim was scorched and it was difficult to identify. By Monday evening, the police got the post-mortem report and a case of murder was registered.
Zonal DCP Vijay Patil formed several teams to nab the accused. Police identified the deceased as Abdus Salam Sayyed (29), a resident of Murshidabad. Syed worked as a construction worker in the city and slept in a deserted building with two others. Investigators took into custody another person, a man who named the Nizam as a suspect. A team reached the Nizam’s Antop Hill residence but was not found there. Later, he learns that he has to take a train to West Bengal. “We sent a team to CST railway station to check outstation trains, but it was not found. Another team, which had gone to Dadar, spotted the Nizam on the train and was brought to the police station,” said senior inspector Nasir Kulkarni.
During continuous interrogation, the Nizam confessed to killing Sayyed. He told the police that he had gone for construction work in Lonavala where he stole the mobile of his contractor. “The Nizam told us that one day he had told this in the presence of Sayyid and another person. Later, Sayyed allegedly started blackmailing him for money and threatened him if the money was not paid. He will inform the police about the theft. Even though the Nizam paid the money, he was furious and was planning to eliminate Sayyed,” said a police source.
On Saturday midnight, when Sayyed was sleeping on his bed, the Nizam started hitting Sayyid on the head with a large stone, which was covered in a polythene bag. Later, he covered Syed’s face with the same plastic and set it on fire.
