Mumbai Flash Mob Grooves To ‘In The Ghetto’, Police Chief Posts Video

The video has been shot at Nariman Point in Mumbai.

A video of a flash mob organized in Mumbai is going viral on the internet. The clip, shared by Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey on Twitter, shows a group of people dancing to a peppy song.

“Nariman Point today, Mumbaikars,” Mr Pandey said in the caption.

The video has been shot at Nariman Point in Mumbai, where a group of people can be seen dancing on the streets to the song ‘In the Ghetto’ by J Balvin and Skrillex.

A tripod-mounted camera and speakers can also be seen playing the popular song in the viral footage.

Many are seen cycling in front of flash mobs, but the dancers are so engrossed in their performance that they ignore the interruption and continue despite the presence of cyclists.

The video has so far garnered over 89,000 views and over 1,800 likes.

Users have commented openly in the comment section of the post praising his performance.

One user wrote, ‘Sir in Mumbaikar language. Ek number talent, positivity and unity. At the same time, a user called it an ‘excellent initiative’.

“Amazing sir, born, brought up and lived in Mumbai, but you have never seen a commissioner involve citizens in decision making. Salute. Please treat every police station chief across Mumbai like your boss. Teach to do and act,” read a tweet.

Another such video became widely popular on Twitter, showing another government official – Pathanamthitta District Collector Dr Divya S Iyer – joining a flash mob of students.

In a video posted in April this year, Dr Divya was seen dancing along with students to the song ‘Nagada Sang Dhol’ from Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone-starrer Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela.
