Mumbai local train: Full vaccination mandatory for traveling in suburban services

The Maharashtra government in an order today said that only fully vaccinated people will be allowed to board local trains in Mumbai.

At present, passes have been issued to essential services like medical services, telecom sector, gas supply, water providers and government personnel etc. irrespective of their vaccination status to ensure that essential services are not affected.

However, it should be noted that a considerable amount of time has passed since the start of the vaccination campaign. The campaign has been carried out at a very rapid pace with adequate vaccines available through the public and private sector.

The State Government, vide its order dated October 8, 2021, has provided a definition as to who is the person to be vaccinated.

Definition of fully vaccinated person:

This includes people who have completed both doses of the vaccine and 14 days have passed since the second dose, people who cannot receive a dose of vaccine for medical reasons, and people who are vaccinated because of age restrictions. Can’t take

Therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred under the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the undersigned in the capacity of Chairman, STAYER Executive Committee of the State Disaster Management Authority hereby declares that there is a mandatory requirement of thorough vaccination for travel in local trains. , and other purposes specified by the State Government are hereby extended to the essential chain personnel as well as all Government servants. Also, the Universal Pass, which will be a mandatory requirement for the purpose of travel, will now be used only for citizens who fall under the above definition of a vaccinated person, irrespective of whether they are related to essential services or not.
